....Rays lefty David Price suffered a freak towel injury after his second inning of pitching yesterday against the Tigers that forced him to miss the next inning of work. "...the towel kind of catches the back of my head and it pulls my neck forward and I just felt it a little bit in the back of my neck." This is his third towel injury....
....So freak injuries it is: Sosa sneezing, Boggs losing balance while taking cowboy boots off, Randy Veres punching his headboard in his hotel to quiet noisy neighbors, Glenallen Hill injuring himself running away from spiders in a nightmare....
....Anyone else have an aversion to listening to or watching Spring games? To me this is like listening to a single from an upcoming album from a favorite band. I will not listen. Just give me the whole thing on its proper release date. Though I did like the 10 minute preview of John Carter on YouTube....

....If the Mets are your favorite squadron there's not much to be happy about. But be happy about your fences. All fences in the park have been lowered and moved in....
....Mike Stanton is currently the odds on favorite in Vegas to be the homerun king this season....
....A little disappointed with the performance of The Ticker yesterday. As of right now we have a closing pitcher (R.A.M.O.N.E.S. by MOTORHEAD). We have Calm Like A Bomb starting somewhere. Deep is playing Enya in the background of pregame yoga. Enya is a soccer not a song. Must I add an obvious one to help us along? Centerfield by John Fogerty....

....If you are a fan of the Birds On A Bat close your eyes on this one... Albert doubled on his first at bat with the Angels. He finished 2 for 3 on the day....
....I received a phone call last night from young Cora Hahn asking me why it is not ok to put ketchup on a hot dog. I raised my voice and said ketchup was for little girls. Then she told me she visited the Louisville Slugger museum where she held the bat of one Babe Ruth. I told her she can eat hot dogs however she likes....
....If songs were Major League Baseball players what songs would you use to complete your defense? I start us off by having the song "R.A.M.O.N.E.S." covered by MOTORHEAD as the closing pitcher. Get to work Ticker. Some of these should be obvious....

....29 Days until Opening Day....
....I usually start the year off with describing the weather and how my soul is warm with the thought of baseball starting again. This winter the weather was warm and my baseball soul has been a bit cold (distracted) by the birth of my son. Here are his stats:
....Cyrus Anthony Pegg...20 inches 7.1lbs... favors his left hand... has fingernails perfectly honed by God himself to throw a knuckleball that dances like Sammy Davis Jr. (all jangly like)...
....Opening Day of the 2012 season is subjective. I have chosen the countdown to end on April 4 with the Cardinals at Miami (Miami Marlins?)....
....This new format is an effort to clean up email in-boxes and create a more conducive space for conversation....
